Service Description

The Basic Life Support - 1 Day Course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. This course covers topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), as well as the management of choking, breathing emergencies, and other medical emergencies. Participants will also learn about legal and ethical considerations, workplace safety, and the importance of communication during emergency situations. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to recognize and respond to various cardiac and respiratory emergency situations, perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants, use an AED, manage choking and breathing emergencies, understand the legal and ethical considerations of providing basic life support, and develop an emergency plan for their workplace. The Basic Life Support - 1 Day Course provides participants with practical, hands-on training and a course manual to help reinforce the knowledge and skills they have learned during the course. This course is ideal for healthcare professionals, first responders, and workplace safety personnel who require basic life support certification for employment or personal reasons. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Basic Life Support certification card, valid for one year. The Basic Life Support - 1 Day Course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. With certification from the Canadian Red Cross and meeting the standards of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, this course is suitable for healthcare professionals, first responders, and workplace safety personnel who require basic life support certification for employment or personal reasons.
