Service Description

The First Aid in Childcare Recertification - 1 Day Course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to renew their First Aid in Childcare certification. This course covers topics such as CPR for infants and children, choking, burns, allergic reactions, and other common injuries and medical emergencies that may occur in childcare settings. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to recognize and respond to various emergencies that may occur in childcare settings, perform CPR on infants and children, manage choking, burns, and other common injuries and medical emergencies in children, identify and respond to signs of abuse and neglect in children, understand legal and ethical considerations when providing first aid in childcare settings, and develop an emergency plan for their childcare setting. In order to attend the First Aid in Childcare Recertification - 1 Day Course, participants must complete preparation reading before the course. Additionally, participants are required to send a copy of their current First Aid in Childcare certification that has not yet expired. This course provides participants with practical, hands-on training and a course manual to help reinforce the knowledge and skills they have learned during the course. Certification: This course is certified by St. John's Ambulance and meets the standards of the Canadian Red Cross. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a First Aid in Childcare Recertification card, valid for two years. The First Aid in Childcare Recertification - 1 Day Course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to renew their First Aid in Childcare certification. With certification from St. John's Ambulance and meeting the standards of the Heart & Stroke Foundation, this course is suitable for individuals who need to renew their First Aid in Childcare certification.
